Nearly half of all the wineries in the United States can be found in California, producing 87 percent of all wine in the country. But wine consumption in America is expected to decline in America this year for the first time in two decades and this could be bad news for California’s Central Valley wine producers.
Capital Public Radio’s resident wine expert Rick Kushman recently attended a wine symposium where these numbers were all the buzz. He recorded a conversation with Insight host Beth Ruyak and started by explaining the name of the symposium, which most people know simply as “Unified.”
