Tony Award Winner Ben Vereen and founder of Wellness Through the Arts, Sacramento program (WTA) joins insight to talk about what WTA is and the Sacramento Awards at Sac State, on April 30th.
WTA Sacramento, an ongoing project, uses the arts as a foundation for exploring healthier lifestyles among high school youth focusing on key topics of bullying, obesity, low self-esteem and diabetes, in the classroom, through an essay or video contest which invites the student to describe their “best day.”
WTA, Sacramento has ten finalists from Natomas Charter, McClatchy and Burbank High participating in the evening showcase at Sacramento State, as well as live performances by high school and Sacramento State students on April 30th at 7pm. Two winners will receive a $400 cash prize.
Ben Vereen and Sacramento celebrity judges will award cash prizes to area high school students participating in Wellness Through the Arts, Sacramento.
Melinda Wilson Ramey and Trudy Allyson Taliaferro also join Insight.
