Are you ready for a whirlwind ride through the legacy of Motown Records? That's exactly what you'll get from "Motown the Musical" playing now through Sunday at the Broadway Series in Sacramento.
"Motown the Musical" is loosely based on the life of Berry Gordy, Jr., an American record producer and songwriter who is best known as the founder of the Motown record abel and its subsidiaries.
More than 40 hit songs from legends like Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross and the Supremes and the Jackson Five are covered by an enthusiastic cast, many of whom do double, even triple duty, as 25 years of record-making is celebrated on stage.
Today on Insight, we'll meet actors Chester Gregory and Loren Lott. Gregory plays Berry Gordy, Jr. and Lott takes on multiple roles, including Gordy's sister Esther and singer Gladys Knight.
