Should California's Legislature be able to suspend lawmakers without pay? That's what Proposition 50 would allow if passed by voters on June 7th.
The proposition was developed in the wake of numerous scandals last year that found the legislature unable to force three suspended legislators to forfeit their salaries and benefits.
Today on Insight, Capitol Bureau Chief Ben Adler joins us for Capitol Chat to explain how Proposition 50 would work. Plus, a new PPIC poll - embargoed until 9 pm 5/25 - finds Hillary Clinton leading Bernie Sanders in the Democratic race for president, but the margin is much smaller than a poll released earlier this week.
