The world premiere of a new play from acclaimed playwright Leslie Lewinter-Suskind is playing at CalStage through July 17th. “A Revolutionary Mind” follows a former rabid activist turned housewife whose daughter is kidnapped while working on a documentary film. She's forced to reconcile the lofty ideals and promises she once made with the life she's now chosen to live.
The production is one of the few American plays dealing with the Vietnam Era from a woman's perspective.
Today on Insight, we'll talk with playwright Leslie Lewinter-Suskind about the show. She's a former Sacramento resident whose first play “Italian Opera” was also performed by CalStage. We'll also talk with actor Berman Obaldia, who plays Raymundo Gleyzer in the production.
