Highly respected Sacramento-based jazz guitarist Steve Homan and his wife vocalist Francesca Homan, who specializes in Brazilian jazz, will be joined by percussionist Tony Day for a live, in-studio performance on today's show.
The trio will perform in concert Wednesday, August 17 as part of the weekly, free concert series "Music at Noon" presented by Westminster Presbyterian Church across from the Capitol in downtown Sacramento.
Steve has performed alongside notable jazz artists such as Howard Alden, Herb Ellis, Jimmy Smith, Joe Williams, Ed Thigpen, Hugh Masakela, Art Van Damme, Anita O’Day, Joey Calderazo, Mel Martin, Diane Schuur, and The Nelson Riddle Concert Orchestra.
His professional jazz career spans nearly 40 years, including time spent as adjunct for American River College, Cosumnes River College and Sacramento State.
Francesca has also spent decades developing her career. Her early years included being a vocalist for folk-rock band Steelwind.
In recent decades, she focused on Brazilian Bossa Nova and jazz with her husband, Steve.
