Sacramento, CA
Being called “America’s Worst Mom” might seem like a pretty terrible thing -- something most parents would want to avoid.
But Lenore Skenazy isn’t most parents.
She’s a New York City columnist that found herself in the middle of a parenting scandal after letting her nine-year-old son take the subway alone.
She’s the anti-helicopter parent and she wouldn’t change a thing. Skenazy, the author and founder of “Free-Range Kids,” will be the keynote speaker at this weekend’s Play Summit.
The fourth annual summit, presented by Fairytale Town and the Sacramento Public Library, aims to highlight the importance of play - and the many different types of play – into our children’s daily lives.
Also joining are Sacramento Public Library Director Rivkah Sass and Fairytale Town Director Kathy Fleming.
