Sacramento, CA
A lack of affordable housing remains a critical problem in California, with massive homeless populations in major urban areas across the state and middle class families struggling to keep their own living spaces.
This Thursday, there will be a housing forum at the Sacramento Public Library from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. bringing together lawmakers, housing advocates and real estate experts to develop solutions to the housing crisis.
Assemblymember David Chiu representing California's 17th Assembly District is making the crisis a top priority, launching an initiative in April to allocate $1.3 billion in funding to help alleviate high rent and mortgage prices.
He joins Tom Bannon, CEO of the California Apartment Association, to discuss solutions to the affordable housing crunch.
