Beverly Johnson is a world icon for the fashion industry. She became the first black woman to appear on the cover of Vogue in the 1970s and from there became a trailblazer in the entertainment industry.
Johnson’s appeared in dozens of TV shows, films, established her own brand of merchandise and became an advocate for the AIDS community.
Most recently, Johnson has been in the news as a critical and outspoken figure in the criminal case facing Bill Cosby.
She’s the keynote speaker at the Exceptional Women of Color Conference happening in Sacramento on Oct. 8 and we’ll talk with her about her life and career.
