Many of us do not have a sense of just how prevalent hunger is in our own country, let alone internationally.
As World Food Day approaches, we’ll talk with Catherine Bertini about the global challenges addressing food security in a rapidly changing world.
Bertini is the 2003 World Food Prize Laureate and the former executive director of the United Nations World Food Programme.
She gave a lecture in Davis Monday night in honor of World Food Day, which is Sunday, Sept. 16 and began as a tribute to the UN’s Food and Ag Organization.
The lecture is part of a partnership with the UC Global Food Initiative for the World Food Day Video Challenge held this past summer.
