Sacramento, CA
You may not have seen a performance, but the Light Opera Theatre of Sacramento has been a part of the city’s performance circuit for over three decades now.
Started by Sacramento State professor Michael Baad and his wife Debbie, the theatre group has performed dozens of W. S. Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan plays over the years.
The company has an open audition policy in part to showcase Sacramento’s hidden talent. This weekend, the LOTS will have their final performances of The Pirates of Penzance, and it may be the final time the company’s founder Michael Baad takes the stage.
Baad joins us in studio along with the show’s director Robert Vann and its artistic director Anne-Marie Endres.
