With Halloween just days away, retired Sacramento TV reporter Jonathan Mumm is back with his horror novel set on the picturesque shores of Lake Tahoe.

The book “Stop it. You’re Scaring Me” follows a troubled young woman’s stay in the famous Vikingsholm castle.

Mumm weaves issues of mental illness and fear throughout the narrative in what the Manhattan Book Review called a "... terrifying tale."

The novel was initially self-published, then later picked up by a publisher, with the new version released just this week. 

A book signing and conversation is scheduled at the Arden Fair Mall Barnes and Noble store Saturday, Oct. 29 11 a.m. to1 p.m.
