After years of tenuous debate, the $1 billion Squaw Valley Expansion project has been approved.
The project will come with hundreds of new hotel rooms, trailhead construction a potential indoor water park over the course of 30 years.
The plans do not go without opposition. Local residents and environmental activists have expressed their concerns.
