Rick Kushman says it is time to talk about harvesting on "Kushman By the Bottle," a monthly conversation focused on the topic of wine.
He says the harvest came early again, but not as early as 2015, resulting in a slightly smaller crop. He does not expect consumers to notice any changes except for possible price increases on higher-end wines.
The recent weather has not been harmful to grapes, but if it persists till the middle of spring, the rain might be able to ruin some of the crop.
Kushman will also talk about a vineyard tour he is leading in Amador County on Sept. 24 at 11 a.m.
