A special storytelling event this Sunday will highlight the work of a unique nonprofit donating livestock to poor communities around the globe.

Heifer International’s model is to provide the food and resources for rural communities to break the chain of poverty and then pass along the children of donated livestock to those in need.

Mary McGrath is a storyteller and volunteer with Heifer; she’s coordinating the special storytelling event on Sunday at the Westminster Church from 3 to 4:30 p.m.

She joins performer Angela James in studio to discuss the importance of the event and share some of their stories.
