Sacramento, CA
Transportation is on the minds of many at the state Capitol as the future for high-speed rail and autonomous vehicles have come into question.
The funding for High-Speed Rail allocated from the state’s cap-and-trade program is significantly less than predicted, so Gov. Jerry Brown’s ambitious transit dream may be in jeopardy although the HSR Board remains confident in its completion.
Meanwhile, the DMV proposed rules on March 10 which would allow driverless cars on California roads as early as the end of this year.
State Government Reporter Ben Bradford recently sat down with the governor to discuss the state’s cap-and-trade program and its transportation needs.
