Sacramento, CA
When it comes to how long you will live, does your zip code matter more than your genetic code? The question is the focus behind years of research by Dr. Anthony Iton, senior vice president of healthy communities at the California Endowment.
His newest report is on the drastic decrease in life expectancy for whites living in the Central Valley, and he’s sharing these findings at the Sacramento Press Club on Tuesday.
Iton joins Capital Public Radio’s Insight to explain why poorer communities have such lower life expectancies and what work is being done to support those communities.
