Sacramento, CA
Jewish, Muslim, Christian, Latino and African-American leaders in Sacramento are coming together Monday night for a special Seder.
The biblical Exodus story will be interwoven with relevant, contemporary issues of social justice at the Freedom and Justice Seder at Congregation Beth Shalom in Carmichael.
Participants include Rabbi Seth Castleman, Gabby Trejo with Sacramento Area Congregations Together and Basim Elkarra, executive director of the Sac Valley chapter of Council of American-Islamic Relations. They will all take part in the evening of storytelling, community building and eating.
All three join Beth Ruyak to share their perspectives on the significant increase in cross-cultural bridge-building and activism in the Sacramento area over the past few months, as well as their personal and familial stories of culture, religion and migration to the U.S.
