Sacramento, CA
After an African-American man named Nandi Cain was stopped April 11 in Del Paso Heights for jaywalking, a video of a police officer punching the man 18 times went viral.
Then came the questions.
Was it jaywalking? What is the protocol if it was? What if it wasn't jaywalking? What happens to the officer who beat down Cain?
Sacramento Bee reporter Anita Chabria has been working on some of these questions and where the phrase "racial profiling" kicks in.
Sacramento Police Department sent out a press release Monday regarding inquiries about codes that require pedestrians to use a crosswalk when crossing a roadway.
