With the failure of the Republican-led replacement to the Affordable Care Act, there’s now a renewed push for a single-payer healthcare system.

State senators Ricardo Lara and Toni Atkins recently authored Senate Bill 562, which would establish a single-payer system in the California.

Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders will soon introduce legislation titled “Medicare for All” that would establish a similar system on the federal level.
