Sacramento, CA
Jonathan Carabba, co-founder of Submerge Magazine, a Sacramento-based arts and entertainment publication, joins us with new music from local artists, including Sunmonks, Petaluma and Sunday School.
Below are songs he previewed along with show information from the bands.
Sunmonks - "Cannibal Wit"
Off their forthcoming full-length album, "Two Play." Sunmonks will play at the annual R Street Block Party in downtown Sacramento on June 24.
Consistently hailed by many as one of Sacramento's best bands, including us at Submerge (they've made our top albums list in the past).
Petaluma - "Head In Yellow"
>
Off their self-titled debut album, released back in January. Petaluma will play LowBrau on May 23, opening for Ben Browning of Cut Copy.
Many layers and electronic elements make this album a fun listen.
Mahtie Bush - "Nobody Move"
Off his upcoming album called "The Return To Backpackramento," Mahtie Bush will hold an album release show on June 16 at Old Ironsides.
Fellow local rapper Kel Cz is also releasing an album at that gig, so it's being billed as a "double album release show."
