Darla J. Moe v. Blue Cross of California et al was a class action in February where the plaintiff, on behalf of others like her, was denied coverage of a 3-D mammogram.

Moe is a breast cancer survivor from Sacramento who is seeking a change in insurance coverage policy and reimbursement for everyone who had to pay out of pocket for medical expenses, herself included.

She speaks about her cancer experience and events leading up to the filing of the lawsuit against Anthem Blue Cross. Robert Ackerman, executive director of the California Radiological Society, discusses the broader picture of private-pay customers being denied claims for 3-D mammograms and shifting positions of big carriers.
