Sacramentan Katie Spencer told investigators decades ago her father sexually assaulted her, yet to this day she can’t remember it happening.
Her father Ray spent 20 years in prison for the crime but was released in 2014 after his attorneys brought evidence to the governor showing the case had been mishandled by the police department.
So what really happened to Katie and was Ray ultimately exonerated of his crime? Maurice Chammah of the Marshall Project did the reporting for Esquire Magazine; he joins Katie Spence in studio to discuss.
