State lawmakers successfully passed the $125 billion budget Thursday with Governor Brown and the Democratic-controlled Legislature hammering through progressive priorities.
There’s increased monies for K-12 Education, social services and further protections for immigrant communities while imposing financial restrictions on the embattled UC system.
However, the massive bill package wasn’t passed without some partisan resistance. Capitol Bureau Chief Ben Adler explains how the money is being spent and where the controversy lies.
