Today on Insight, experts from a variety of fields react to the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on the confirmation of U.S. Circuit Court Judge Brett Kavanaugh to fill the seat of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy.
Earlier this summer, Dr. Christine Blasey Ford wrote a confidential letter to Rep. Anna Eshoo and Sen. Dianne Feinstein to allege that Brett Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her when they were both teenagers in suburban Maryland in the early 1980s. The accusations remained anonymous until the Washington Post broke the story on September 16. In the two weeks since that story broke, Americans have reacted strongly to the allegations and partisan confirmation process. On Thursday, Dr. Ford and Judge Kavanaugh testified at length before the Senate Judiciary Committee.
