Insight Special Coverage: Sacramentans Speak Out At City Council Meeting After DA, AG Decline To File Charges Against Officers

People began shouting "shut it down" during Tuesday's Sacramento City Council meeting, largely focused on the police response to Monday's Stephon Clark protest in East Sacramento where 84 people were arrested.

Sacramento residents turned out to voice their opinions at City Council last night. It was the first council meeting since Sacramento County District Attorney Anne-Marie Schubert and California Attorney General Xavier Becerra both announced their offices would not file criminal charges against the two officers who shot and killed Stephon Clark in March 2018. Dozens of people gathered at the city council meeting last night to express their outrage at the situation.
