A breakdown of the bills on Governor Gavin Newsom’s desk that he will either sign into law or veto by the end of the month. California launches a new website providing abortion resources and information for both Californians and those living outside the state. Folk Artist Hayley Reardon joins us ahead of her performance at The Sofia in Sacramento.
Bills left to sign or veto
Governor Newsom has two more weeks to sign or veto a stack of bills sitting on his desk. After a marathon legislative session that went into overtime at the August 31st deadline to get bills through to Newsom, several still need to be decided on. Some are more controversial than others. CapRadio Politics reporter Nicole Nixon breaks down the remaining bills and how one of the statewide propositions on this November’s ballot is making for some strange bedfellows.

Jodi Hicks, President, and CEO of Planned Parenthood Affiliates of California, share more details about the launch of “Abortion.CA.Gov,” a website dedicated to those seeking abortion resources for both Californians and those out of state.

Hayley Reardon is a folk artist who has spent a decade developing her sound. Hailing from Massachusetts, Hayley has quickly jumped onto the scene with recognition from the WBURs Tiny Desk Contest and earning an artist residency in Germany. The music is deeply rooted in her life adventures as a world traveler)and showcases influences from Flamenco to traditional Folk sounds. She has collaborated with Folk legends like Grammy Award-winning Lori McKenna and performed at the Music Club Passim in Cambridge, Massachusetts, known for breaking through some of the biggest names in Folk music. Reardon stopped by the Insight studio ahead of her performance at The Sophia in Sacramento to showcase some of her music.
