Gov. Newsom’s 2024 ‘State of the State’ Address
Governor Gavin Newsom delivered his long-delayed 2024 State of the State address this morning. Instead of a live speech in front of lawmakers and the press, the address was released as a prerecorded message. Lara Korte, co-author of POLITICO’s California Playbook and CapRadio Health Care Reporter Kate Wolffe analyze the governor’s message, and the various topics it touched on - from national political issues and homelessness, to mental health and combatting retail theft.
Mosquito Season
With summer in full swing, mosquitos are becoming an increasingly common annoyance across the Sacramento region, and can potentially harbor dangerous diseases like West Nile Virus. Luz Maria Robles, Public Information Officer for the Sacramento-Yolo Vector Control District joins Insight with an update on this year’s mosquito season, and how residents can keep themselves safe from these irritating insects.
