Dia de los Muertos at The California Museum
Día de los Muertos is a time-honored tradition that celebrates life, death, and remembrance. This vibrant holiday has deep roots in Mexican culture, and its observance has spread across California, blending art, history, and cultural expression. The California Museum recently hosted its 11th annual Día de los Muertos Fiesta, unveiling a new exhibit titled “Arte de Inspiración: Día de los Muertos 2024.” The exhibit showcases altars created by artists, each honoring influential figures from California’s history, with a focus on activism and social justice. We’ll learn more about the exhibit from Artist Adrián Arias and Amanda Meeker, Executive Director of the California Museum.
