The UC Davis Department of Chemistry is hosting the next “SCInema” presentation on the lasers of Star Wars.

Professor Kyle Crabtree will present a special showing of Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens, followed by a Q&A session on why the blasters in the film aren’t lasers, and how real lasers work in research.

The film screening starts Saturday at 4:00 p.m. in Rock Hall at the UC Davis campus.
